Daily Assignments-Updated on April 4, 2020
Below please find the daily assignments for first grade during our remote learning time. These activities are required for grading purposes, as they will be checked in as "complete" or "incomplete." All paper work should be kept in the home folder and brought back to school upon our return. Papers must have names and dates on them. If anything needs to be printed, and you do not have access to a printer, your child can complete the assignment on any plain or loose leaf paper.
Language Arts / Reading / Spelling / Writing

Daily Reading
Each first grader should read for approximately 10-30 minutes per day. If you would like to find a great selection of online books for this, you can log in to Epic at https://www.getepic.com/students Enter your class code below and begin exploring. There are many exciting books for the first graders on this site.

If your child wants to read their own books and not use the Epic Site please just keep a simple log on a sheet of paper with :
· Title of the book
· Date Read
· Length of time reading

Spelling
Log in to Vocabulary Spelling City to complete one activity per day. (Feel free to practice as many lists as often as you would like.) These are ALL sight / spelling words we've learned so far this year. To do this, log in to https://www.spellingcity.com/Log-yourself-in.html and log in UNDER STUDENT with your child's user name and password. There is no need to print anything out because we can see their progress online. Below you will find the student login information.
Spelling City is great for fun practice. To work on each day please do one of these suggestions per day (or be creative)
Do one of the following per day:
Write on paper-
-ABC order
-Make a word search
-Make shape boxes
-Write a sentence for each word
-Rainbow write each word 2 or three times
-Double Up-write the word then write it twice.
-Have someone give you a spelling test
-or other written idea 💡

Below please find a prayer journal printout for daily use. Students are able to either draw or write their responses. They will turn these in upon their return. Also for the week of March 30-April 3 Read and do Chapter 14 in the Religion Book. Do a page or 2 a day so that the chapter is complete by the end of the week.
